Gundamwatch order 2026
· Availability is split across Crunchyroll, Netflix, and home video depending on the series and the country. Search the exact title.
Gundam is not one story with a secret order. It is a dozen universes that share a name. The Universal Century, starting with Mobile Suit Gundam in 1979, is the main history. Witch from Mercury, Iron-Blooded Orphans, SEED, 00, and Wing are separate worlds. You do not prepare for them.
If you want the shortest honest start, watch The Witch from Mercury. If you want the classic saga, watch Mobile Suit Gundam (or the movie trilogy), Zeta, and Char's Counterattack. That triangle is a complete story. Unicorn and Hathaway are the reward for continuing, not the entrance fee.
Three doors, then the classic spine if the 1979 series takes. Stop at Char's Counterattack and decide whether you want the rest of the century.

FAQ
Before you press play
Where should I start Gundam?
The Witch from Mercury if you want a finished modern series with no homework. Iron-Blooded Orphans if you want a harsher standalone war. The 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam, or its movie trilogy, if you want the real Universal Century.
What is the Universal Century watch order?
Mobile Suit Gundam, then the optional One Year War side stories, then 0083, Zeta, ZZ, Char's Counterattack, Unicorn, and Hathaway. F91 and Victory are much later and optional.
Do I watch the movies and the 1979 series?
No. The movie trilogy is a recut of the series. Pick the series for the full war or the trilogy for a shorter entrance. Then move on to Zeta.
Is Witch from Mercury connected to the old shows?
No. Ad Stella is its own universe. The same is true of Iron-Blooded Orphans, 00, SEED, and Wing.

Routes, not sequels
02Fate Series
Fate does not have one timeline you can watch from start to finish.
Kai, not GT
03Dragon Ball
The Dragon Ball watch order is simple once you ignore the padding.
