Star Warswatch order 2026

· Films and canon series stream on Disney+.

The nine saga episodes are a first-watch cut, not the whole canon. Rogue One, Solo, and The Clone Wars film opened between those episodes, and the Disney+ series are canon too. Release order is the full list, with those films in the year they actually played. Legends — the Holiday Special, the Ewok films, the 2003 Clone Wars microseries — and Visions stay off, because they are not this timeline.

For a first watch, use the 9 saga films tab: original trilogy, then the prequels, then the sequels. Chronological order spoils the shape of The Empire Strikes Back and makes The Phantom Menace your introduction to the galaxy. That is a fine second viewing. It is a poor first one.

The shows are a second decision. Andor and Rogue One are the live-action peak if you want the rebellion. The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, and The Mandalorian and Grogu (2026) are the New Republic continuation. Maul – Shadow Lord (2026) sits in the early Empire, after The Bad Batch and before Solo. The Clone Wars is a long animated commitment that makes Revenge of the Sith hit harder, and it is not required to understand the films.

Every canon film and series in the order it premiered. Rogue One sits between The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, and Solo between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker, because that is when they played. Legends and Visions are not on this list.

FAQ

Before you press play

What order should I watch Star Wars in?

First time: the 9 saga films tab — original trilogy, prequels, sequels. Release order is the full canon, including the films that opened between those episodes and the series. Use chronological order only after The Empire Strikes Back can no longer be spoiled.

Where are Rogue One, Solo, and the shows?

On Release order, in the year they premiered. Rogue One opened between The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Solo opened between The Last Jedi and The Rise of Skywalker. The Clone Wars film opened in 2008. Andor, The Mandalorian, Ahsoka, Maul – Shadow Lord, and the other canon series are on that list and on Chronological order. The 9 saga films tab is only the numbered episodes.

Why are some Star Wars movies missing?

Legends is left off on purpose: the Holiday Special, the Ewok films, Droids, and the 2003 Clone Wars microseries. Visions is an anthology outside this timeline. Ahsoka season 2 premieres January 20, 2027, and is not listed yet because its place on the timeline is not public.

Where does Andor go?

Andor is the rebellion in the five years before Rogue One. On the timeline, watch both seasons and then Rogue One, then A New Hope. You can also watch Andor on its own with no prior series.

Do I have to watch The Clone Wars?

No. It is optional for the films and very long. Watch it if you want Ahsoka's story before the series that carries her name, or if you want the Clone Wars as more than a montage in Revenge of the Sith.

Where is The Mandalorian and Grogu?

After The Mandalorian Season 3, Ahsoka, and Skeleton Crew, and well before the sequel trilogy. The film opened May 22, 2026.
