Skip the filler
Naruto / Borutowatch order 2026
· Naruto and Shippuden are on Crunchyroll and, in some regions, Hulu or Netflix. Films are often a separate rental.
Naruto is told in order. There is no chronology to solve. There is a filler problem: a long anime-original stretch at the end of Part I, and regular anime-original blocks through Shippuden, especially inside the war. Skip filler is the right first watch.
Two films are canon and easy to misplace. Watch The Last: Naruto the Movie after Shippuden episode 493 and before the epilogue (494–500). Watch Boruto: Naruto the Movie after the series ends. The Boruto television show retells that movie, then spends most of its 293 episodes on anime-original plots. A Two Blue Vortex anime was in production in 2026 and had no premiere date as of October 19.
Manga story only, with The Last and the Boruto movie in the right slots. The Boruto TV series stays off this path.

FAQ
Before you press play
What Naruto episodes can I skip?
In Part I, skip 101–106 and 136–219, and watch episode 220. In Shippuden, skip 54–71, 89–112, 144–151, 170–196, and 215–242, plus the filler islands listed on the Fourth Great Ninja War row. The Skip filler tab removes those rows.
When do I watch The Last: Naruto the Movie?
After Shippuden episode 493 and before episodes 494–500. It was released in 2014, but it is set in the timeskip near the end of the show.
Is Boruto required?
The movie is the canon next step and is short. The 293-episode series is optional because so much of it is anime-original. Two Blue Vortex, the manga sequel, did not have an anime premiere date as of October 19, 2026.
Is there a chronological order that differs from release order?
Not in any way that helps. The story is linear. Use chronological order for the canon path, and release order only if you want the filler blocks in the holes where they aired.
